What is needle felting anyway?

In a nutshell, needle felting is a technique where small barbs on a needle shaft catch and lock the fibers together when the needle is stabbed in.  The more you stab, the tighter the fibers will lock and the firmer the felt will become.  These needles come from the commercial felt industry where thousands of needles are used at once to make felt fabric. Needles can be used both to sculpt or to embellish the wool fibers, called fleece or roving (pictured above).

Pins, Clips and More:

You can decide if you want your felted flower sewn securely to a pin, a hair clip, a hair band, or a head band.

 Colors:

Flowers can be made using various shades of Reds, Pinks, Purples, Blues, Greens (Spring Green and Kelly Green), White, Gray, Yellow, and Orange. The roving is not always a solid color as you can see from the picture above.

Embellishments:

Each flower can be embellished with seed beads, buttons, pearl beads, and stitching in various colors of thread. Really you can use anything, so if you have a special request let me know in your order.
